WHY DID YOU CHOOSE THIS CAR

I chose the Jetta because at the time it wasn't as common in the scene as it is today, a friend of mine had the 20th Anniversary GTI, so I was going to buy a normal turbo GTI, but I saw this on the lot and I changed my mind. The truck on the other hand, I like to think it chose me, When I was shopping for a “work” truck I was looking at mid 90 to early 2000s Nissan and Toyotas with a modest budget, but for some reason it just kept coming up in my suggested and notifications even though I never actually specifically searched for one and it was out of the price range, but it kept calling to me, so I saved up a little bit more and went for it.

WHAT WAS THE MAIN GOAL WHEN THE BUILD STARTED

Initially, I was gonna keep the Kraut Cannon sleeper. Especially since it already had a body kit, wheels, and a sporty interior, the only things I needed to work on was upping the Horsepower, and getting more Gs. BëatrÏx, I wasn't planning on doing anything to aside from some personal touches because I didn't want it to compete with the Jetta, and supposedly, the previous owner covered all bases before selling. So the Truck was going to take over daily duties while I gave the jetta a break and knocked out all the projects I had planned for it that I couldn't do because I needed it to drive the following days. The reason she's named BëatrÏx was because originally I was going for a Kill BIll theme, thus the black and yellow with rust spots that resemble blood splatter, as well as the Sword Handles, i had a “pussy wagon” key chain but it either broke off or someone stole it.

Obviously over time things changed, because Jettas were getting more common I was getting sick of people mistaking someone else’s for mine, and kids calling their basic bolt-ons and done a build, I wanted to show that you could do all these crazy mods, make it your own and really make it something special, on top of drive it everyday. The truck, once I got the wheels and the camper shell it was all in with the Pizza Planet and delivery boy racer theme. In addition  since I had to correct the shortcuts or finish everything the PO did or didn't do, I decided that if I'm putting in this much effort I might as well make it my “show car”. To top it all off, it being an old school Euro mini truck not everyone knows about, I could enter multiple

DO YOU HAVE A UNIQUE STORY BEHIND THE CAR OR BUILD

The Jetta not so much, aside from I called it the Kraut Cannon since its a German car so calling it a Rice rocket wouldn't make sense even though I did draw a lot of  Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancements from trends that were prominent in the mid 90s to early 2000s, arguably the golden age of tuning IMHO. I know it sounds cliche but I really did build the car for me not for everyone. I cannot tell you how many times someone has told me, “I didn't know you could do that to a Volkswagen.” Which was also my goal with the build was to show you can do off the wall stuff like this as long as you fully commit to it and follow through with the supporting mods.

According to the PO, the truck was originally bought brand new off the dealer lot by the owner of Eurocode, who used it as a shop truck for a number of years, then it just sat until the owner basically said, “Get it off the lot.” That's where the previous owner came and built it to basically look like a GTI truck until he decided to cut his losses since he had no intention to keep it. I bought it for less than what he was asking, but probably more than I should, but i was too excited to see it. Over the next year, I little by little saw all the shortcuts made to get it to sale, like the headlights being wired directly to a switch into the fuse block with no fuse, installation of the “new” parts wasn't done in the best fashion, or things were done half assed like new carpets, but no padding or sound deadening underneath. Which kinda cracked me up cause the dude worked for McLaren of New Port so it made me wonder if that's the quality he does at work, but whatever, it just gave me more of an excuse to scrap what was there and do things my way.

WHAT ARE YOUR FUTURE PLANS FOR THE CAR

If I don't end up swapping it, I wanna do a stroker kit on the Jetta, as much as I wanna go full fledged, no business being driven on public roads racecar, It will always be my daily driver until I decide to get another car. The truck, visually for the exterior anyway I wanna keep it the way it is, aged but clean. Worst comes to worst I’ll respray it, possibly even change the theme. The Interior is where I wanna blow people's minds, I have a cage and bucket seats waiting to get mocked up, and I’m in negotiations with a company to test their shifter tower and race floor pan kits. Engine wise, I’m going back and forth with rebuilding the factory 1.7 to be a high revving Individual Throttle Body Nitrous breather, or swapping in the jetta’s motor, or just saying F you to the world and dropping in a 3.6 liter motor from the newer VW/Audis. Suspension, for sure gonna bag it and 4 link the rear so I have more adjustability and less guestwork when I haul.

Stitch's Jetta and Caddy: Text

IS THERE ANYTHING YOU WOULD HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY IF YOU COULD GO BACK

Get the truck for less, and just overall be more patient and care less about brand loyalty. Other than that I’m happy how both cars have come out and look forward to continuing to kill the game.
